The UniBinder 8.2 is Unibind's flagship binding system. It is their most versatile desktop binding system in that it can bind documents up to 340 pages, bind up to 6 documents simultaneously.

How It Works:

The UniBinder 8.2 consists of 2 heating elements, a crimping element, and a cooling element. Your work is bound automatically; first-place your loose sheets in your desired Unibind cover (UniCover Flex, UniCover Hard, UniCover Spine), place the cover(s) onto the heating element, then wait about 90 sec. What is exactly happening during this step? Inside each patented Unibind cover lays a strip of resin which turns to liquid when heated up. The pages being bound are adhering to that liquid resin and when it cools, the resin is hardened and won't let the pages fall out. The second step is to drop each document into the crimping element. This reinforces the pages further into the resin, guaranteeing a solid bind. Crimping also sizes the spine exactly to the number of pages. The third and final step is to let the documents properly set on the cooling tray. The cooling tray is designed to house the documents so pages do not separate from the spine during the cooling process.

Editing Documents:

Another great feature of Unibind machines is the ability to edit your document after you've already bound it. Imagine you've created the perfect presentation and spot a typo at the very last moment! There's no fear with Unibind machines, you simply take the bound document and place it on the heating element. This is going to loosen up the resin, allowing you to pull a page from the cover and slide a the new page in it's place.

There's no warm up time with the UniBinder 8.2. The machine only turns on when it detects a Unibind cover has been placed on the heating or crimping element. Lastly, if you are already using a previous generation Unibind machine, all older style Unibind covers and spines are compatible with this system.
