Pressboard File Folders
Today I’m writing about the different kinds of Pressboard folders available from Advanced Filing Concepts.
We carry top tab pressboard folders and end tab pressboard folders.
Within those two specific styles, there are Type 1 pressboard, Type 2 Pressboard and Type 3 Pressboard styles.
Type 1 Pressboard:
Type 1 Pressboard is the filing industry’s standard type of
pressboard folder. It is a 20pt. thickness which is the strongest and
most durable of the pressboard family. Type 1 pressboard has a
distinctive mottle, or marble appearance with a smooth glossy finish.
Type 1 pressboard is used when superior durability and a very
professional appearance is desired. Type 1 Pressboard folders are only
available in end tab / side tab styles.
Type 2 Pressboard:
Type 2 Pressboard is a 25pt. “guidex” which is a versatile material
used not only in office filing products but in a range of industrial
applications. It exhibits an intermediate range of hardness and density
with an excellent finish and very high quality of rigidity.
Type 3 Pressboard:
Type 3 Pressboard is a 25.pt “valtex” which is a good, functional grade of pressboard and is used in a wide range of filing applications. It has a good finish and excellent rigidity. Type 3 pressboard is used best in high-volume applications where the desirable appearance of Type 1 or durability of Type 2 are not needed.
Filing.com, Advanced Filing Concepts’ website, carries all three types of pressboard folders. We also have all of Smead’s pressboard folders available for purchase as well.
